11th Annual Inter-Tribal Powwow

Journey Home: Saturday and Sunday, April 25 & 26, 2009

Join us for a special gathering on ancient ancestral grounds, where the cry of sea gulls blend with drums and beautiful songs to create a place where ALL can "journey home" in their hearts! The Powwow will be held at the Frisco Native American Museum and Natural History Center, Frisco,NC. Rain or shine the festivities begin Saturday morning at 10am with vendor demonstrations. The Grand Entry will take place at 12:00 noon. The Drum groups set to appear are Falling Water and Eastern Bull & Singers with special guests. The Dance circle will be open to all and there will be opportunities for evening dancing on Saturday night. Also planned for the event are pinch pots for the children, drum making, flute making, story telling, native survival skills, knapping (arrow head making), native food prepared on site, singing, exhibits, crafts and more. Inclement weather location will be the Cape Hatteras Elementary School. The closing ceremony will be at 4pm on Sunday afternoon.
