The Lost Colony’s Theatre Arts Camp, Session II
9 a.m. - 5 p.m. Designed to teach students voice, dance, and acting skills; give them performance experience; ignite their creative spirit; build a sense of accomplishment and community; and encourage them to have fun! Lunch and snacks are provided. $150 per week, plus $10 registration fee (non refundable). Balance due on the first day of camp. Includes camp T-shirt, tickets to Charlotte’s Web, Waterside Art Wednesday, Tea with the Queen/Simon’s Pirate Adventure, and The Lost Colony. Camp is for ages 6-15. The Diary of Adam and Eve
This Family Fun Summer Series, at The Elizabethan Gardens, is highlighted by The Diary of Adam & Eve, a one act play from the Broadway Musical The Apple Tree. The performances in The Gardens air- conditioned theater run Tuesdays at 2:30 pm July 7-August 11. Based on a short story by Mark Twain and set to words and music by the team of Harnick and Bock who created Fiddler on the Roof, this light comedy is the perfect story for a garden setting. Bloody Mary and the Virgin Queen
Film Theatre, Roanoke Island Festival Park. 3 p.m. A humorous musical farce based on the relationship between Queen Elizabeth I and her half-sister, Mary Tudor. The two loathed one another and yet are buried in the same tomb in London’s Westminster Abbey. The production takes place in the tomb, in the present day. Tickets required. American Heroes Day
10:00am to 3:00pm. Come see and talk to the real heroes of today. See the personnel, equipment and vehicles of area Coast Guard, law enforcement, fire fighters, water rescue, EMS, and much, much more. Static displays throughout the day and scheduled demarcations include Coast Guard Honor Guard and Color Guard, Coast Guard Search & Rescue helo and motor lifeboat demonstration, military flyover, jet ski ocean rescue demo, Beach Apparatus Drill. $5 per person, Parking across the street and along the highway.
